This month alone, there have been 1,382 COVID-19 cases in Greenwich Public Schools, compared to 700 in all of 2020-2021. This month's uptick came after holiday breaks, and also coincided with the emergence of the highly contagious omicron variant.
According to Greenwich Hospital President Diane Kelly in last week's Greenwich COVID-19 update, it appears as if Greenwich recently hit its peak in this wave of the pandemic.
Kelly cited wastewater data as an encouraging sign that brighter days are ahead, but she encouraged residents to keep their foot on the pedal and be vigilant against the coronavirus.
