After a season-opening two-point overtime win against Fairfield Warde, the girls basketball team received a wake-up call on Friday against FCIAC power Danbury.
Six-foot-2 center Casey Smith scored 18 points to lead the Hatters to a 71-26 victory over the Cardinals.

Rebecca Gartner added 14 points for Danbury (2-0), which built a 25-10 halftime lead, then slowly pulled away in the second half.
Caroline Barrett scored 12 points and Sabrina Rodriguez added seven for the Cardinals (1-1).
