Greenwich Faces Darien in La Vista Tourney Finals

Off to a 3-1 start, the boys basketball team will play at Darien on Thursday ( 5 p.m.) in the championship game of the annual La Vista tournament.

The Cardinals advanced with a 56-42 victory over New Canaan while Darien defeated Stamford Academy 65-34 for its first win of the season.

New Canaan and Stamford Academy will meet in the consolation game at 3 p.m.

Greenwich also reached the La Vista finals last season, but was routed by Career Magnet, one of the top teams in the state, 60-36.

On the girls slide, Greenwich, which has lost five in a row, will face Foran in the consolation game at New Canaan at 3 p.m.

Greenwich lost to New Canaan 46-28 on Tuesday while Darien defeated Foran 39-32 to advance to the final against the Rams (5 p.m.)
