The boys basketball team rode a spectacular performance from most valuable player Greg Donlic to win the annual Tony Lavista tournament title Thursday afternoon.
The senior power forward scored 27 points as the Cardinals fought off a challenge from Darien en route to a 50-47 victory.

Donlic almost singlehandedly fought off a chanllenge from Darien by scoring 17 of the Cardinals' 22 points in the second half. The Blue Wave (1-4))trailed 20-8 after the first quarter.
Alejandro Rodriguez added 13 points for Greewich (4-1), which reached the final with a 56-42 victory over New Canaan on Tuesday.

Liam Naughton (1-4) kept Darien in the contest with 22 points while Matt Lee added 10 for the Blue Wave. Darien got as close as 41-39 with under six minutes remaining.
The Greenwich girls fell to Foran 46-33 in the consolation game.
Jenny Cespedes and Victoria Carr each had eight points for the Cardinals (1-6), who dropped their sixth straight game.
