The Greenwich senior American Legion team wrapped up its regular season with a 4-2 win over Wilton on Sunday. The Canons finished the year with a 23-4 record - four games ahead of runner-up Norwalk.
As zone four champion, Greenwich gains one of eight automatic bids into the 16-team double elimination tournament that begins on Saturday at Muzzy Field in Bristol and Palmer Field in Middletown.

The remaining eight spots will be filled by teams who will play in a play-in tournament during the week. Norwalk, Stamford, Trumbull and Darien/New Canaan also have qualified for postseason play and will be looking to get into the main draw.
The Greenwich Redbirds, who rolled to the Junior League Softball Championship with a 15-1 drubbing of Ridgefield on Thursday, begin play in the section one tournament in Orange on Monday. Greenwich faces District Two champ Black Rock at 5:30 p.m.

Greenwich outscored its four opponents in the tournament by a margin of 50-6, including an earlier 12-2 win over Ridgefield.
