Two-time Met Junior and 2010 Carter Cup champion David Pastore of Griff Harris is in third place at the 56th Ike championship after shooting a 1-under 69 Monday at the Somerset Hills Country Club in Bernardsville, NJ.
Pastiore is three shots behing first-round leader Pat Wilson of Panther Valley after an up-and-down round that included seven birdies, four bogeys, and one double bogey.

The 18-hole cut came at 7-over 77, with a large group of 57 players surviving to advance to the Ike’s 36-hole second day. Eight players are within five strokes of Wilson’s lead, setting the stage for an exciting final day over one of the most highly regarded golf courses in the Met Area.
Shorehaven's Tommy McDonagh, fresh off his win in the Connecticut Amateur Championship, shot a 71, leaving him tied for seventh with two other golfers, including New Canaan's Curtis Loop.

“My game is as good as it’s ever been,” said McDonagh, a two-time Met Open champion in 2006 and 2008. “My plan is to continue to hit fairways and keep the ball below the hole so I can put myself in good spots to make birdies.”
Fellow Shorehaven menber Cameron Wilson posted a score of 2-over par 72, leaving him tied for 10th.
After becoming the youngest winner of the Met Amateur in 2009, Wilson is back from his freshman year at Stanford University looking to claim anotherMGA major title. Wilson finished third at the 2010 Ike at Metropolis.
Greenwich, which won the CIAC Class L state championship, placed three players on the All-FCIAC girls lacrosse first team: Tori Dunster, Shannon Colligan and Claire Feeney.
Emily D’Erasmo was a second-team pick and Elizabeth Robben was an honorable mention choice.
For the boys, midfielder David Dickson and defenseman Adam Sands were first-team selections. Attackman Stephen Dodd and Peter Cabrera were named to the second team while Alex Marcus, Fritz Waine and Alex Moeser were honorable mention picks.
-- Greenwich's Stephen Pastore will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship on Tuesday at the Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam.
Only three spots are available for the Junior Amateur, which will be played July 18-23 at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton, Wash.
-- New Canaan defeated Greenwich 9-2 Monday at Mellick Field in the loser's bracket final of the Cal Ripken 10-year-old District One tournament.
Zach Lopez and Griffin Arnone homered for New Canaan, which will meet Stratford in the final on Tuesday at Mellick Field (7:30 p.m.) . The locals will need to win twice to take the title and an if necessary game would be played Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
New Canaan defeated Norwalk 9-4 in the first round on Saturday,but lost to Stratford 4-3 in the winner's bracket final on Sunday.
In the other first-round game, Stratford defeated Greenwich, 3-1. Greenwich then bounced back with a 9-8 win over Norwalk in an elimination game.
In the 12-year-old 70's tournament, also taking place in New Canaan, Greenwich will meet Stratford in the loser's bracket final on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Saxe Field.
In first-round play on Saturday, Norwalk defeated Stratford 4-1 and Greenwich edged New Canaan, 6-5.
On Sunday, Norwalk advanced to the final with a 5-3 victory over Greenwich and Stratford eliminated New Canaan with an 8-7 win in the loser's bracket.
