The Greenwich baseball team begins what could be a wild final week of the regular season on Monday at Trinity Catholic.
The Cardinals are tied with Norwalk and Wilton for the final playoff spot with 9-6 league records, one game behind New Canaan and Fairfield Warde, who are all 10-5.

Essentially, five teams are battling for the final four spots. One will be left out.
For Greenwich, it all could come down to Wednesday's game at Wilton, but the Cardinals can't look past Monday's contest. The Cardinals then close out the regular season at home against Staples.

If the Cardinals beat Trinity Catholic and Wilton, the Cardinals will clinch a playoff spot, making the game on Friday meaningless. Greenwich would clinch because it would have the tiebreaker advantage over Wilton.
In another sport, the Greenwich volleyball team has a big match at Ridgefield on Monday.
(Greenwich 8-3 in the FCIAC) is trying to hold off Bridgeport Central (7-4) for the league's fourth and final playoff spot. The Cardinals close out the regular season at Bridgeport Central on Wednesday.

Greenwich 4, Bridgeport Central 3 (9) -- Dylan Callahan scored the winning run after David Berdoff's sacrifice attempt was thrown away as the Cardinals kept alive their FCIAC playoff hopes. Greenwich took advantage of six Bridgeport Central errors.

New Milford 7, Greenwich 3-- The Cardinals (7-10) need to win one of their final three games to qualify for the state tournament.
