Suddenly, the Greenwich football team is in the driver's seat to play in the FCIAC championship game.
Mike Daly rushed for 105 yards and Shane Nastahowski added 98 yards and two touchdowns as the Cardinals rolled over McMahon 35-14 on Saturday to improve to 7-1.

While Greenwich kept its state titles hopes alive, it also now has a clear path to the FCIAC title game.
With Stamford upsetting New Canaan 36-29 on Saturday, Greenwich and Staples emerged from the weekend as the remaining unbeatens in the FCIAC and will clash at Trumbull's McDougall Stadium on Nov. 18 if they win next week. Greenwich's one loss came to New London outside the FCIAC.

Nastahowski scored on TD runs of 2 and 1 yards to give the Cardinals a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Alex McMurray and quarterback Liam O'Neil added TD runs of 6 and 3 yards to extend Greenwich's lead to 28-0 at the half.
The Senators (3-5) scored in the second half on a pair of TD runs by Trevon Forney.
Greenwich's final score came on O'Neil's 5-yard TD pass to Taylor Olmstead that made it 35-7 in the fourth quarter

The GSA Pride U-11 girls soccer team won its league title with an 8-0 record while scoring 23 goals and alllowing only two.
The Arsenal boys U-10 team takes a 7-0 record into its final game next weekend in the A-division.
The GSA Milan U-10 boys squad is 6-0 heading into its final final two games. The Milan boys also won the Columbus Weekend tournament
The GSA Gunners U-9 boys team also is 6-0 going into the final two games in its first season of travel soccer.
