After an impressive 36-12 win at Trumbull, the Greenwich football team is up to eighth in the latest CIAC Class LL state rankings.
There are only six remaining unbeaten teams in the division, including No. 4 Norwalk (4-0) and No. 6 Staples (3-0) of the FCIAC. The top eight teams in each class make the state playoffs.

Barring a major upset, Greenwich (3-1) figures to be 6-1 heading into November as its next three games are against Fairfield Ludlowe (0-4), Bridgeport Central (1-3) and Westhill (0-4).
With games to follow against McMahon (1-3) and Danbury (2-2), Greenwich could be 8-1 heading into its Thanksgiving showdown against Staples.

The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation announces that it will be starting indoor field hockey clinics on Sunday, Nov. 27. The clinics will run for four weeks through Dec. 18.
Registration will begin by mail only on Monday, Oct. 17 and continue through Oct. 21. In-person registration begins Oct. 24 at the Bendheim Western Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Rd.
The classes will meet for four Sundays. Session 1 will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 pm for children 8 and 9 years old. Session 2 will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m for children 10–12 years old.
The program will help children develop skills in stick work, passing, receiving, shooting, basic offensive and defensive skills and small-sided games.
