The Cardinals, who suffered a 51-33 defeat to New London a week ago, improved to 3-0 while handing Trumbull its first loss. The Eagles dropped to 2-1 after a pair of lopsided wins over Westhill and Fairfield Ludlowe.
Thursday also marked the return of Greenwich starting quarterback Liam O'Neill, who missed the first three games of the season with a concussion suffered in a preseason scrimmage.

Trumbull got on the board on Ryan Pearson's 30-yard field goal, then closed within 10-9 on Nick Roberts' 50-yard TD pass to Pat Lomnitzer.
