Old Greenwich's Alicia Dibos, who plays out of the Winged Foot Golf Club, tied for 10th Wednesday at the 24th annual Women's Met Open Championship at the Canoe Brook Country Club.
After a first-round 75 on Tuesday, Dibos carded a 74 Wednesday to complete 36 holes at 5-over par 149.

She finished 13 strokes behind champion Liz Janangelo of Rockrimmon. Janangelo put together rounds of 70 and 66 to wins by three shots over Nicole Morales of GlenArbor Golf Club. She finished at 8-under 136.
Morales was the only other player to finish under par, posting a two-round total of 5-under 139.

The Town of Greenwich, Parks and Recreation Dept. announces that the registration/organizational meeting for its Co-Ed Volleyball League is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Rd.
The league will run from October 2011 – February 2012. All games will be played at Western Middle School on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.
All residents 16 years of age or older that live in the Town of Greenwich can enter a team as well as employees of corporations in Greenwich.
The cost to enter a team is $300.00. The fee should be paid on the meeting day, or by Sept. 9.

The 13th annual Mats Wilander Celebrity Tennis & Golf Classic is set for Oct. 17 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.
Wilander and fellow tennis legend John McEnroe will be on hand for a full day of golf, tennis and entertainment. The day ends with an evening cocktail reception, auction and dinner.
Proceeds benefit the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association (DebRA) of America. DebRA is the only national non-profit organization that funds research for the cure and treatment of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and provides supportive services for patients and their families.

Registration is ongoing for the The Volvo of Stamford Tour de Greenwich XXVII, a 20-mile bicycle race set for Sept. 18 at 7:30 a.m. The race starts at Greenwich High School.
The pre-entry registration fee is $35 with a cost of $45 on the morning of the race. Each participant will receive a long sleeve race shirt and a water bottle.
The day includes a post-race brunch,which will take place during the awards ceremony. A winner's jersey will be presented to the champion in each age group.
Entry forms may be obtained on the www.threadsandtreads.com website and at the Threads and Treads sporting goods store at 17 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich.
Max Lippolis of Pound Ridge, N.Y., won last year's race in 49:04 to edge Cos Cob's Alex Weil by three seconds.
Kristin Budden of Rye Brook, N.Y., was the woman's champion at 56:53, finishing a mere one second ahead of Darien's Rose Shabet.
