The Greenwich football team steps out of the FCIAC when it hosts New London on Friday (7 p.m.) in its only non-conference game of the season.
Orginally, this was a bye week for the Cardinals, but they picked up New London after the season started to complete their 10-game schedule. Friday's contest originally was scheduled to play at West Haven to limit the travel involved since the schools are located on opposite ends of the state.

After struggling to beat Ridgefield 16-3 in its season opener, Greenwich routed Bassick 49-8 last week.
