Greenwich First Selectman Issues Statement On Marzullo's Larceny Arrest: Update
He is accused of shoplifting from two outlet stores in Clinton.

GREENWICH, CT — Drew Marzullo, a member of the Greenwich Board of Selectmen since 2009, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of fifth-degree larceny in Clinton on Saturday, Aug. 26, according to the Clinton Police Department.
The charge stems from alleged shoplifting incidents involving the 46-year-old Cos Cob resident at a Skechers store and a J.Crew store in the Clinton Crossing Premium Outlet, reports the Greenwich Time.
Marzullo, a Democrat who is seeking re-election, is accused of stealing $486 worth of items from Skechers and $184 worth of items from J.Crew, writes the publication. Clinton police said the arrest occurred at about 12:30 p.m.

In a statement Friday, First Selectman Peter Tesei said he was "surprised and saddened" by the news of Marzullo's arrest.
"I am surprised and saddened by this news," said Tesei. "During the past 8 years, the Board of Selectman together with Drew as a member, have worked collaboratively toward our common goal of providing the best possible services to all of the residents of Greenwich."
He added, "At this time, Drew needs time to reflect on these circumstances and my thoughts are with him and his family, who support him."

Patch reached out to Marzullo for comment on Friday, but has not yet heard back.
The Greenwich Democratic Town Committee said in a statement that Marzullo's political future will be up to him, writes the Time. Marzullo is reportedly taking the weekend to consider his options.
In addition to his Selectman's post, Marzullo is also a veteran paramedic formerly with the Greenwich Emergency Medical Service, and a Greenwich native who graduated from Greenwich High School. He has also considered a run for the Lt. Governor's position.
