GREENWICH TEENS RAISE $1,000+ FOR HOME BOUND SENIORS

Middle and high school Greenwich students from the JCC Greenwich Teen Action Committee volunteered yesterday for Supermarketing for Seniors

A group of Greenwich middle and high school students from the JCC Greenwich Teen Action Committee volunteered yesterday, September 7, and helped raise over $1,000 for Supermarketing for Seniors, a program of Jewish Family Services of Greenwich. The teens were at A&P Greenwich, as a part of the town-wide event held on National Grandparent’s Day, helping to raise awareness for this unique, non-denominational grocery shopping service for home bound seniors. The teens’ efforts were a part of the overall success of the event which raised over $5,000.

The JCC Greenwich Teen Action Committee, comprised of middle and high school Greenwich students, meets once a month during the school year to help plan and organize community service projects for teens. Next month, they will help feed the hungry at Masbia, a nonprofit soup kitchen network and food pantry in Brooklyn.
