Greenwich's 7-Day Forecast Includes Cooler Temps, Chance of Thunderstorms

The summer-like feel of this past weekend will continue into mid-week, and then temperatures will moderate for a few days.

In fact, if you enjoy warmer temps, enjoy today’s sunny skies with a high of about 80 degrees.

Things change late tonight with fog rolling in and staying until Tuesday morning’s commute, and then there is a chance of some showers and thunderstorms with temps in the lows 80s. The rain threat is less than 50 percent, according to the National Weather Service.

Beginning on Wednesday, the good news is it will be sunny, but temps will be hovering in the low to mid 60s until Friday when we could hit 70 degrees.

The initial forecast for the upcoming weekend calls for a chance of rain on Saturday, only 30 percent at this time, and sunny skies on Sunday. Again temperatures will struggle to hit the upper 60s next weekend.

Here is the National Weather Service’s latest hyperlocal forecast for Greenwich:

• Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 81. South wind 8 to 13 mph.
• Tonight: Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light after midnight.
• Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 6 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Tuesday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a northwest wind 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph.
• Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43.
• Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 66.
• Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.
• Friday night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.
• Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 71.
