The toy store will run a special promotion this week to help support Ukraine.
GREENWICH, CT — With the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, people far and wide are looking for ways to help those who have been displaced by Russia's invasion.
Locally in Greenwich, a toy store is hoping to do its part to help children who have been impacted.
Funky Monkey Toys & Books, which has locations in Greenwich at 86 Greenwich Ave. and on Long Island at 360 Wheatley Plaza, will offer a 10 percent discount to customers on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9. Additionally, 10 percent of all in-store net proceeds will go towards Save the Children's Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund.

Save the Children is helping to provide children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance.
"With what's on the news and what's going on in the world, being in America from long distance, it feels like you're kind of helpless," owner Jared Greenman told Patch. "Being a store owner in the community, we're trying to do what we can do to help. This is our little way of hopeful providing a little bit of support to a good cause."

During a rally for Ukraine outside of Greenwich Town Hall last Tuesday, First Selectman Fred Camillo called on residents to help in any way they can.
"Anything you can do to help these people, would be greatly appreciated. No act is too small, no gift or thought is too small. We need to stand with them. They certainly don't deserve what's going on there right now," Camillo said. "When you hit your knees tonight or lay your head in the pillow, please remember what everyone is going through in Ukraine, not knowing what tomorrow's going to bring."
