Greenwich's St. Patrick's Day Parade Is March 19: Here's What To Know
The parade is scheduled to step-off from Greenwich Town Hall at 2 p.m., on Sunday. There will be several road closures.
GREENWICH, CT — The 47th annual Greenwich St. Patrick’s Parade sponsored by the Greenwich Hibernian Association will take place on Sunday, March 19.
The parade will be led by Grand Marshal Kevin McFadden, a Greenwich native and veteran of the New York City Police Department.
Marchers will step-off from Town Hall at 2 p.m. when Greenwich police Sgt. Ryan Carino blows the ceremonial starting whistle. Carino's Irish ancestors came from County Cork.

Road Closures
The parade route will go up Field Point Road before turning right on the Post Road to the top of Greenwich Avenue, where everyone will march down to Railroad Avenue.
The Greenwich Police Department will be redirecting traffic to the detour route. Starting at noon on March 19, Dayton Avenue will be closed to traffic and then at 1:30 p.m. Field Point Road’s portion of the route will be closed.

At 1:45 p.m., West Putnam Avenue’s portion of the route and all of Greenwich Avenue will be closed. At 1:55 p.m., there will be closures and detours put in place for the key sections of Railroad Avenue, Steamboat Road, and Bruce Park Avenue for the parade route.
There will be no parking on the east side of the top and middle of Greenwich Avenue and on both sides of Greenwich Avenue south of and including Greenwich Commons by the Havemeyer Building.
There will be posted no parking signs. Anyone in violation may be subject to tow.
Parade Participants
This year’s parade will feature 11 total bands — seven of which will be bagpipe bands.
Participants include: Greenwich Pipe Band; Fairfield County Police Pipes and Drums; Westchester Firefighters Pipes and Drums; Essex County Emerald Society Pipe Band; Pyramid Shriners Pipes & Drums; Pelham Regional Pipe Band; Celtic Cross Pipes and Drums; Port Chester High School Marching Band; Tappan Zee Bridgemen; Nash Drum Corp.; and Wholly Brass Band.
In addition, there will be at least 50 groups of local schools, scouts, fire and police departments and civic organizations marching. There will be Irish step dancers from three local schools: Lynn Academy of Irish Dance, Anam Cara Irish Dance and Harney Pender Keady Academy of Irish Dance.
A number of antique and vintage vehicles will be in the parade, including an antique van sponsored by Sam Bridge Nursery. The always popular Pyramid Shriners Motor Patrol will perform in their miniature cars.
