Groundbreaking Dec. 7 For New Construction Of New Lebanon School
Funding for the $37 million project was secured last month.

GREENWICH, CT — A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for the morning of Thursday Dec. 7 to usher in the construction of a new New Lebanon School on Mead Avenue in Byram, according to Greenwich school officials.
The ceremony — expected to be attended by town, state and district officials, parents and students — is being hosted by the New Lebanon School Building Committee and will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Funding for the $37 million project was secured last month, with Greenwich set to receive $24 million from the state to go toward the project, reports the Greenwich Time.

Town officials balked at releasing money for the project until the state came through with the reimbursement.
Construction is expected to take over a year and could be finished by early 2019.
