Guess The Giant Pumpkin Weight At Mike's Organic Greenwich To Win $1K

GREENWICH, CT — Mike’s Organic has announced a "Guess The Pumpkin Weight Contest" where one lucky winner will get $1,000 in groceries.

Grown in Ridgefield, CT, this giant pumpkin has now found a home at Mike's Organic. The contest kicks off a series of Pumpkin Fests which will take place every weekend in October.

Guests can simply snap a photo of the pumpkin along with their favorite product from Mike's Organic, post it on Instagram with their weight guess and tag Mike's (@mikesorganic) for a chance to win.

The contest will end on Oct. 31 at midnight. The winner will be announced Nov. 1, and awarded $1,000 in groceries to the Greenwich store. Also on display at Mike's for the fall season is a giant squash and a 9-foot-long gourd.

"It's the great pumpkin, Greenwich! Hosting fun community initiatives like this one is exactly what we envisioned when we first started building this store," said Mike Geller, owner of Mike's Organic, in a news release. "We want to bring people together, support local growers and have some fun along the way!"

Mike's will host Pumpkin Fests every weekend in October - there will be a pumpkin patch, pumpkin activities for kids, and pumpkin items available at Mike's food truck. Mike's Organic is located at 600 E. Putnam Ave., in Cos Cob.

Winfield Street Coffee’s outpost at Mike’s will also be serving Pumpkin Spice Lattes all month long. In addition, there are several special events throughout October including:

• Oct. 7, 9 a.m.: Greenwich’s Countdown Fitness will host a free outdoor workout; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Greenwich Calligraphy will be on-site to personalize pumpkins.
• Oct. 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Meet chickens from CT-based Shaggy Coos Farm.
• Oct. 14, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Greenwich Calligraphy will be on-site to personalize pumpkins.
• Oct. 15, 1 p.m.: Pickling Workshop with Greenwich Botanical Center.
• Oct. 21, 3-5 p.m.: Astrologist Demitra Vassiliadis and Holistic Nutritionist & Health Coach Meredith Geller will host an experiential Cosmic Beauty Workshop.
• Oct. 22: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Bring the kids for Pony Rides with Major Motions Farm.
• Oct. 29: Decorate your own trick-or-treat bags with Greenwcih's The Big Picture and take part in a Costume Parade.

Mike's Organic sources fresh local produce, pastured meats and eggs, grass-fed dairy, wild fish, pantry selections, local baked goods, vegan and gluten-free options and more.

Customers can find a streamlined shopping experience. Knowledgeable and passionate staff serve as tour guides for shoppers along their journey, offering samples, meal tips and insight into the sourcing of products.

In addition, Mike's regularly hosts events to bring the community together, from its Tuesday pop-up markets and Taco Tuesday at its food truck to a variety of programming each weekend.

Contest Rules:

One entry per person. Must post an entry on Instagram with a weight guess and tag Mike’s Organic to win. One product from Mike’s Organic must be included in the photo. Only one winner will be chosen. If there are multiple correct guesses there will be a tiebreaker. Contest ends October 31, 2023 at midnight and the winner will be announced November 1, 2023. A $1,000 credit will be redeemable for the winner at Mike’s Organic between November 1, 2023 - April 1, 2024. Can only be used in-store.
