Connecticut Weather: Strong Thunderstorms Possible Today
The National Weather Service says we may see some severe weather today. Here are the latest details in the updated weather forecast.

The heatwave will break later today as thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening in Connecticut. Some of the storms could be strong and possibly severe, which has led the National Weather Service to issue a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the state. Today will be our last 90-degree day this week.
For southern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says, “Scattered thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon and evening in association with a cold frontal passage. A few storms may become strong, possibly severe, with strong to damaging winds being the primary threat.”
In Hartford and Tolland counties, the weather service says, “Strong thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early tonight, roughly between Noon and 8 PM. A few may cause damaging wind gusts. Locally heavy downpours are possible, and may cause urban and poor drainage flooding.”
