A timeline for some potentially severe weather today has been released by the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Southern Connecticut on Tuesday as a round of rain showers and thunderstorms are expected for the area this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service says, "Showers and possible thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening could produce locally heavy rainfall and minor urban flooding. There is also a marginal risk for flash flooding."

We can expect warm temps today with temps near 80 degrees and "an isolated shower cannot be ruled out this morning, but a greater chance of showers and possible thunderstorms exists this afternoon and evening. A few of the storms could produce strong wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall, mainly across northeast New Jersey, the Lower Hudson Valley, and southern Connecticut."
