Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern Connecticut
Severe weather is in our forecast. Here are the new details on when we can expect strong to severe thunderstorms.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Southern Connecticut for Saturday. There is a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening, which could produce damaging wind gusts and flash flooding concerns.
An advancing cold front is the culprit for the potentially severe weather. Once the storms roll through Saturday we can expect dryer and cooler temps on Sunday and Monday.
The National Weather Service says, "High pressure will remain offshore today, and warm and humid weather can be expected as light onshore winds persist. A stray shower or thunderstorm may impact areas ... but generally dry conditions overall are expected.

"Plenty of clouds along with warm and humid air is forecast for tonight. A cold front is expected to approach from the northwest Saturday, and pass during the evening. Scattered to numerous
showers and thunderstorms will accompany this front as it moves through during the afternoon and evening hours. It will be quite warm and muggy Saturday across the area ahead of the front. Slightly drier and cooler air settles in for Sunday."
