CT Weather: Heavy Rain Ends Today, Beautiful Weekend Awaits
It's raining once again in Connecticut. Here is when the rain is expected to end an update on the weekend weather forecast.

The good news is that it will stop raining this afternoon and the even better news is that the coming weekend looks to be gorgeous with sunshine and temps right around room temperature at 72 degrees.
The bad news is that right now more heavy rain is pelting the state, which is bad news since we're just a couple of days removed from a flooding rainstorm. The rain will taper off by early afternoon to showers. Another two inches of rain is possible before the rain ends.
There are several advisories and watches in effect for Connecticut this morning.

* Low pressure just off to the south shifts east this morning, bringing areas of rainfall to the region. Up to an additional half inch to three quarters of an inch of rainfall will be possible this morning.
* Heavier rainfall rates and total amounts could cause urban and highway flooding during the morning rush. Minor small stream flooding is also possible.
New London, New Haven and Middlesex counties:
The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas.
* At 627 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain moving across the advisory area. Excessive runoff from the heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...Jewett City, New Haven, Waterbury, Meriden, Milford, Middletown, Wallingford, Norwich, Naugatuck, New London, Guilford, Southbury,
Wolcott, Colchester and Clinton.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for Portions of northern Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, including the following areas, in northern Connecticut, Hartford, Tolland, and Windham.
* Through this afternoon
* An area of moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected to fall over southern New England this morning, moving eastward before exiting the area later this afternoon. Widespread rainfall of 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rainfall is expected, however locally higher totals up are possible. This system will likely produce very localized totals in which locations under a heavy band could see 1-3" while others see less than an inch.
* Streams and small rivers are running much higher than normal, and the ground is saturated. This is due to the recent series of heavy rainfall events. Therefore, the region is vulnerable to flash flooding.
