Just as they have for the past eight years, Greenwich town employees rose to the call and donated about 700 pounds of food to the food bank coffers that help local residents.
The Greenwich Service Unit of the Salvation Army once again sponsored what was their 9th annual town employee and resident food drive to benefit Neighbor to Neighbor and the Greenwich Department of Social Services’ emergency food pantry.
By late Thursday afternoon, social services worker Alison Brush and Bill Hamilton, board member of the Greenwich Service Unit, were busy packing up about 700 pounds of pasta, canned soups, vegetables, fruit, tuna and pasta sauce, as well as much-needed paper goods that will help replenish the food pantries.
