GREENWICH, CT — A few years after the 2015 death of her husband, former New York Football Giants great Frank Gifford, Kathie Lee Gifford moved away from her Greenwich home and settled in Franklin, Tenn. in 2019.

The Riverside mansion was never sold, however, and it appears it will be staying in the Gifford family, at least temporarily, according to Greenwich Time and PEOPLE Magazine.

Kathie Lee recently told PEOPLE that her son Cody and his wife, Erika Brown, are living there now.

"And that just makes me so happy," said Kathie Lee, the former Today co-host, to PEOPLE.

In a 2019 interview with USA Today, Kathie Lee explained her reasons for moving out of Greenwich. She said she was "dying of loneliness" and that the home had felt like "a morgue" after her husband died and her children, Cody and Cassidy, were living on the west coast.

"It was the missing of my children in my beautiful, beautiful home that had once been so filled with laughter, and music, and dogs barking, and smells of the grill going, and the seagulls," she noted to PEOPLE.

Cody told Hearst Connecticut Media this week that being able to stay in Greenwich has been one of the highlights during an otherwise difficult time period throughout the pandemic.

Frank Gifford, a two-way player, joined the New York Giants as the number one overall draft pick in 1952 after starring at the University of Southern California.

Over his 12-year Hall of Fame career in New York, Gifford earned eight Pro Bowl selections and a Most Valuable Player award in 1956. He also began a successful second career as a football broadcaster, most notably on Monday Night Football. Gifford even tried his hand at acting.

Gifford and Kathie Lee got married in 1986, and settled in Greenwich, where the two were active in the community for several decades. Gifford died in the Greenwich home of natural causes in August 2015 just before his 85th birthday.
