No one could decorate like the French aristocracy.
The Louvre Museum in Paris is showcasing the opulent style of the 1700s with the reopening of its 18th-century decorative-arts galleries after a nine-year, $35 million renovation, Inti Landauro and Marion Halftermeyer report on wsj.com.
The 23,000-square-foot space has 33 galleries, including 14 period rooms faithfully recreated from the originals.
