CT Weather: Storms Possible This Weekend, Heat, Humidity Rise
Here is the updated weather forecast for this weekend in Connecticut and the changes we can expect including storm chances.

As we head into the weekend some significant weather changes are on the way. It appears there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms on Saturday night and more thunderstorms on Sunday too as temperatures and the humidity rise once again. It's possible we could be looking at a mini-heatwave from Sunday through Tuesday, especially in areas away from the immediate Connecticut coast.
The National Weather Service says, "Conditions will be dry and seasonably warm today as high pressure sets up just off the coast. Temperatures will then warm and humidity levels rise this weekend as a south to southwesterly flow sets up. An approaching cold front will then allow for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly inland late day Saturday, and throughout the area for Saturday night. This chance may continue into Sunday."
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties saying, "There is the potential for a few strong thunderstorms on Sunday. Main
threats will be heavy rainfall and gusty winds."

Connecticut could definitely use some rain, as NBC CT Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan points out.
It's dry but we're not in a drought thanks to a wet winter and spring. The updated "drought monitor" has a large chunk of Connecticut in the "abnormally dry" category. #nbcct pic.twitter.com/dSBPjedfSt

Possible heat wave Sunday - Tuesday. It may come down to a degree or two (whether it's official or not). Either way, heating up with temps around 90 during that time-frame.
