Man Accused Of Helping To Move Remains Of Greenwich Native
A Queens, New York, man was accused of moving the remains of Nicole Flanagan, 42, who was found in a barrel in New Jersey on Aug. 13.
GREENWICH, CT — A Queens, New York, man has been charged with being an accomplice in moving the remains of Nicole Flanagan, 42, from New York City to Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Flanagan was found in a barrel on a Ridgefield Park street Aug. 13.
Aquellio Parker, 29, of Springfield Gardens, was charged with second-degree being an accomplice to disturbing, moving and/or concealing human remains; second-degree being an accomplice to desecrating, damaging and/or destroying human remains; second-degree conspiring with a co-defendant to disturb, move, conceal and/or desecrate a deceased body, Musella said in a news release Tuesday night.
After an investigation pointed to Parker, Musella said, Parker turned himself in to the New York City Police Department, where he is being held pending extradition.

On Aug. 13 shortly before 11 a.m., the Ridgefield Park Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious large plastic container left in the area of Hobart Street and Teaneck Road in Ridgefield Park, Musella said. Inside the plastic container, officers discovered human remains, which were later identified as Flanagan, who was a Queens resident, Musella added.
According to the NYPD, Flanagan was last seen outside an apartment building in Manhattan's financial district on Aug. 6.

An obituary posted via Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home said Flanagan was born in Greenwich. The Greenwich Time reported that Flanagan graduated from Greenwich High School in the mid 1990s.
The obituary says she was born to Thomas and Bonnie Flanagan. She is "survived by her children, Aaron, Tayana, and Xavier, Brother T. J. and his wife Lisa, and nephews Patrick, Shane, and Matias."
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Church Greenwich.
A GoFundMe page was created by Flanagan's sister-in-law, Lisa Flanagan, with a goal of $10,000 to help with funeral costs. As of Wednesday afternoon, $9,580 had been raised.
"We are all devastated by the loss of Nicole. We want to give her the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. As everyone knows, this was tragic and sudden. Making final arrangements has become a financial burden on her father," Lisa Flanagan said on the fundraising page. "Any amount that you see fit to donate, is much appreciated. We are grateful for your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time."
