Mike Bocchino Offers Heartfelt Goodbye After Election Defeat
"I am proud of the record that I have and all the accomplishments made along the way," Bocchino wrote.

GREENWICH, CT — Mike Bocchino, the Republican state Representative from Greenwich who lost his re-election bid Tuesday, took to Facebook Thursday to thank his constituents for their support.
"It has been my honor and privilege to serve the people of the 150th district of the Town of Greenwich as your State Representative," wrote Bocchino. "On November 6th, those that voted in the election chose a different path and direction for the State of CT than I had envisioned. While I do not agree with raising taxes and tolling our roads, I respect the democratic process and wish Representative elect Steve Meskers success in his new position."
On Wednesday, First Selectman, and fellow Republican, Peter Tesei came to Bocchino's defense by chastising Democrat Laura Kostin, who also lost her election bid, to apologize for calling Bocchino a vulgar name.

Kostin did not respond to Patch in regards to the comment, but she told the Greenwich Time that she is focusing on putting the campaign behind her and will not be bullied. Bocchino called for Kostin to resign from her position on the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting because of the comment, but she said she refuses to do so.
Bocchino also appeared to reference Kostin in his goodbye address, but not by name.

"I believe it’s time that we ALL get up and stop with the nasty divisive rhetoric," he wrote.
