About Children's Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC)
"We celebrate joy every day at Children's Learning Centers of Fairfield County. After all, we get to spend our days with nearly 1,000 young children, ages six weeks - 5 years old, helping them learn in a safe, fun environment in 8 different locations in Stamford, CT," says Marc Jaffe, Chief Executive Officer of Children's Learning Centers (CLC.)
CLC has been a leader in developing and implementing high quality and affordable early childhood education and care programs since 1902. All of the nonprofit agency's eight locations are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or approved by Federal Head Start.
Research has shown that 90% of the brain is developed by the time a child turns five, and the greatest return on investment in education comes from a high-quality early childhood education program.
CLC's comprehensive curriculum, on-site health services, family service workers, and nutrition program set it apart from other early childhood education providers. CLC has partnered with Yale University Center for Emotional Intelligence to develop social and emotional skills in young children. CLC is currently working with the Nurture Science Program in Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center to help families use the healing power of nurture to address and prevent emotional, behavioral, and developmental difficulties.
