New Assistant Principal Appointed At North Street School: GPS
Greenwich Public Schools announced the appointment of Jessica McEvily as the new assistant principal at North Street School.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Public Schools announced on Thursday that a new assistant principal has been appointed at North Street School.
According to a news release from GPS, Jessica McEvily will take on the role effective immediately. McEvily takes over for Kathleen Smith-Ramirez, who was recently appointed assistant principal at North Mianus School.

McEvily has been a faculty member in the district since 2007. Most recently, she was the assistant principal at Parkway School from January through March 2021. At North Street School, McEvily "will support the entire North Street community, assisting in the development and achievement of school goals and objectives, while advocating on behalf of all students."
"Ms. McEvily has shown tremendous dedication to students in our district for many years and has been such a great asset to our community,” said Superintendent of GPS Dr. Toni Jones, in a news release. "Her devotion and professional experience makes her a perfect fit for North Street School."

At Parkway School, McEvily’s responsibilities included supervising and assisting special education staff members, facilitating all Planning and Placement Team meetings, creating and modifying staff and student schedules, and overseeing parent communication for students with comprehensive needs. From 2007 until 2019, she was a GPS school psychologist developing and implementing plans, counseling sessions, and lessons.
In 2018, Mrs. McEvily became a school psychology program associate and in 2019 was named a behavior support team psychologist.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jessica McEvily to North Street School as our new Assistant Principal," Principal Jill Flood said in a news release. "I am confident her knowledge and expertise gained through years of dedicated service to the students and families of GPS will serve her well as an outstanding administrator. Her enthusiasm and passion for working with students, families, and staff is remarkable, and I am very much looking forward to our new partnership as the leadership team of our great school."
McEvily said she was "truly honored" to join the North Street School community — one she said is known for its dedication and commitment to staff, students and families.
"I look forward to joining such a strong and dynamic team to serve the needs of North Street for years to come. Let’s go Dragons!" she said in a news release.
McEvily holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and Spanish from Fairfield University, a master's degree in therapeutic interventions and a professional diploma from Fordham University, and a Connecticut 092 Administration Certificate from Sacred Heart University.
