New Chairman Tapped For Greenwich Board Of Education: Report

He's a familiar face.

GREENWICH, CT — In what some might call poetic justice, Peter Bernstein, who Greenwich Republicans tried to oust from the board before the fall election, was elected the new Chairman of the Board of Education Monday night, reports the Greenwich Time.

Bernstein, who garnered huge support from parents and Republican voters, was elected to a second term earlier this month as a petition candidate, and he replaces Peter Sherr as Chairman.

His election as Chairman was supported by every member of the board, except for Sherr who abstained from the vote. Sherr told board members prior to Monday's vote that he would not seek re-election as Chairman, paving the way for Bernstein, according to the publication.
