Connecticut Weather: New Details on Possible Nor'easter Impacts
New details have been released this morning concerning a nor'easter that could impact the state during the upcoming week.

In a Sunday night update, its continuing to look like that a nor'easter will largely be a miss for Connecticut. Southern Connecticut will be on the fringes of this storm and there may be some light snow Tuesday night and Wednesday. But no real accumulation is now expected except for extreme parts of southeastern Connecticut where 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible, the National Weather Service says.
Other areas in Southern Connecticut may see less than one inch of snow. Despite this seemingly good news, weather officials continue to stress that any track change could lead to more impacts for Connecticut.
"Our area will be on the northern fringes of this storm, and there will be the possibility of snow Tuesday into the middle of the week, mainly for southern portions of the forecast area. The current forecast calls for 1-3 inches of snow for central and eastern Long Island and extreme southeast Connecticut, with less than an inch elsewhere by late Wednesday afternoon," The National Weather Service says. "Conditions will also become breezy Tuesday night intoWednesday, mainly for coastal locations. The forecast is still very uncertain, so stay tuned for updates."

While this is good news for those of you who want winter to end, there is still some concerns remaining. If the storm tracks just a bit closer to Connecticut, we could be looking at a heavy snow storm. Again, as of Sunday morning, this doesn't look like it will occur but it will still be a close call, meteorologists caution.
The National Weather Service issued an updated statement for Southern Connecticut Sunday morning, "The probability for widespread hazardous weather is uncertain, as a series of low pressure systems passing to the south bring chances of snow Tuesday into Wednesday. A slight northward trend in the expected track of either of these lows could lead to significant snowfall ..."
There is no weather statement for Northern Connecticut. In fact, the weather service says there is only a 30 percent chance of snow between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Wednesday night. According to the weather service, that is the only window for snow in northern Connecticut.
So far model trends showing storm missing most of CT. Coastline has the best chance for a brushing of snow. This is a close call and if the storm tracks 50 to 100 miles further north, then we are in the thick of it. Stay tuned for update this aft, & Mon. pic.twitter.com/YtQA3SzXjA

If there are any changes to the storm's track this evening, Patch will update this story. Today's weather is very cold for this time of year with temps in the 30s throughout the state. There will be plenty of sunshine though. Have a great Sunday.
