GREENWICH, CT — Whether Greenwich will move forward next year on a new fire station in the northwest corner of town faces a hurdle Friday when the Budget Committee of the Board of Estimate & Taxation is set to vote on funding to review possible sites, reports the Greenwich Time.

The committee is taking up First Selectman Peter Tesei's entire budget proposal for 2019-20 on Friday, which calls for total spending to exceed $442.3 million. Included in that plan is the recommendation to spend $100,000 on possible sites for a new fire station.

For a few years, Greenwich officials have batted around the idea of a fire station in that part of town, which would be Greenwich's ninth fire station. Tesei and Greenwich Fire Chief Peter Siecienski recently have renewed their push for the station.
