Pair Of Greenwich Police Officers Receive Honors
Their separate efforts helped save a life, and capture a suspect in several ATM thefts.

GREENWICH, CT — Two members of the Greenwich Police Department recently were honored for outstanding service to the community, which in one case helped save a life and in the other led to the arrest of an ATM theft suspect, according to authorities.
Off. Justin Quagliani performed CPR during a medical call on Jan. 25, 2019, when he discovered she was having a syncopal episode. His "quick intervention" aided the patient until the Greenwich Emergency Medical Service (GEMS) arrived and took over care.
"The highest calling of a police officer is to preserve life; your efforts are a true testament to your dedication to this principal," states the Letter of Recognition presented to Quagliani. "On behalf of the patient, her family, and the Greenwich Community, thank you for a job well done."

During a press conference Thursday, Quagliani said that his training as an emergency medical responder gave him confidence to begin administering CPR to the patient. The Greenwich Police Department encourages its members to study for emergency medical responder status - and the higher designation of emergency medical technician - in order to assist the professionals with GEMS whenever possible.
In the second honor, Det. Daniel Bucci was named Officer of the Month for January for his Investigative Excellence which led to the arrest of a suspect in several ATM burglaries.
