The football team won the Class LL State Championship this past weekend.

GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich will host a "Parade of Champions" to honor the 2018 Greenwich High School Football Team, which won the state Class LL Championship this past weekend, announced First Selectman Peter J. Tesei. The specific day, time and route of the parade are still being finalized.

"It is only fitting that the Town recognize the efforts of this group of fine young men who through their tireless efforts under the tutelage of Coach John Marinelli had an undefeated season," First Selectman Tesei in a statement. "Not only did they win the FCIAC championship, they won the Class LL state championship on Saturday."

The parade also will celebrate the Greenwich High School Girls Swimming and Diving Team, which also won the FCIAC championship this fall and the Class LL state championship, as well as the State Open championship.
