Parents Sue Town, Greenwich Public Schools Claiming They Failed to Prevent Bullying: Report
The parents of Bart Palosz filed the lawsuit claiming the bullying their son endured at school for years led to his 2013 suicide.

A lawsuit has been filed against Greenwich Public Schools and the Town of Greenwich by the parents of Bartlomiej ‘Bart’ Palosz, the Greenwich High School sophomore who committed suicide on the first day of school in 2013, claiming more should have been done to prevent their son’s death after years of being bullied.
Anna Izabela Palosz and Franciszek Palosz filed the wrongful death suit on Wednesday in state Superior Court in Stamford, according to Greenwich Time. The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount of damages in excess of $15,000. The Paloszes claim the school staff failed to follow mandatory anti-bullying policies even though they were aware of bullying incidents that began in grade school, continued through middle school and during Bart’s freshman year at Greenwich High, according to the report.
After attending the his first day of class as a sophomore on Aug. 27, 2013, Bart returned to his family’s High Street home in the Byram neighborhood of town. Home alone, the 15-year-old used a key to unlock his father’s gun locker, took out a shotgun and shot himself in the head.
