Some Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Restrictions Have Been Lifted In Greenwich: Here's What To Know (patch.com) — Greenwich residents are seeing some gas-powered leaf blower restrictions lifted now that Labor Day has passed, but rules still apply to residential properties under two acres until Sept. 30. First Selectman Fred Camillo reports fewer complaints yet ongoing violations, and urges residents to report issues to police while remaining courteous as landscapers prepare for full gas-blower use starting Oct. 1.
   

2. 21 Greenwich Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists (patch.com) — Twenty-one students from Greenwich schools have been named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, placing them among the top-scoring high school seniors nationwide. The recognition spans Greenwich High School and several private schools, and sets these students up to compete for prestigious scholarships to be awarded through 2027.
   

3. Greenwich Events To Mark 25th Anniversary Of 9/11 Terror Attacks (patch.com) — Greenwich residents are invited to two local ceremonies on Friday marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11, including a major remembrance at Cos Cob Park honoring the town's 32 victims. A separate evening ceremony at the Glenville Firehouse will gather the community at the World Trade Center steel monument, while national observances unfold in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania and are available via livestream.

Greenwich Botanical Center & Greenwich Dahlia Society Present Dazzling Dahlia Show (greenwichfreepress.com) — Greenwich residents can look forward to the Dazzling Dahlia Show at the Greenwich Botanical Center on Saturday, September 26, featuring hundreds of judged blooms, an arrangement auction, and a popular flower sale. With $10 adult admission and free entry for kids, visitors can enjoy prosecco, local gelato, and a chance to bring home bouquets from this much-loved annual event in Cos Cob.
   

5. Teens turn personal cancer battles into care-tracking app (kdvr.com) — Two Greenwich high school friends turned their own cancer experiences into Soothe Note, an app that helps patients and caregivers track symptoms, medications, moods, and questions between appointments. Rising seniors Brynn Forlizzi and Teddy Aaron say their goal is to give young patients more independence and have already earned national recognition for their work.
