Partner In Greenwich Tailor Shop Linked To Manafort Probe: Report

Eugene Venanzi is a partner in the bespoke men's tailoring store Pitagora & Venanzi on Greenwich Avenue. Paul Manafort was a prior client.

GREENWICH, CT — Eugene Venanzi, a partner in the bespoke men's tailoring store Pitagora & Venanzi on Greenwich Avenue, previously had indicted former Trump campaign director Paul Manafort as a client, reports the Greenwich Time. And now Venanzi's name is surfacing in connection with Manafort's federal investigation.

Manafort is alleged to have bought $900,000 worth of clothing from Venanzi's former store in midtown Manhattan, Boutique of Bespoke Atelier, which could figure into the federal money-laundering case against Manafort.

Venanzi, a highly regarded tailor who has a 1999 bank larceny arrest on his record, says he only knew Manafort as a lobbyist, and the two did not have a personal relationship, writes the publication.

The tailor is not the only Fairfield County connection to Manafort. New Canaan First Selectman candidate Kevin Moynihan was a Georgetown University classmate of Manafort's, but the two are only acquaintances, Moynihan says.
