Man Accused Of Pointing Gun At Store Employee Arrested: Greenwich PD

Police said they arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning in Riverside.

GREENWICH, CT — A 26-year-old man accused of pointing a gun at a store employee during a robbery Tuesday morning in Riverside has been arrested, according to an update from the Greenwich Police Department Tuesday afternoon.

Jaden C. Williams was arrested at his home without incident and charged with first-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny, police said.

The incident occurred Tuesday around 10 a.m. at the Riverside shopping center on East Putnam Avenue when a man attempted to leave a store without paying for merchandise, police said.

Police did not specify the store.

"The suspect was confronted by a store employee who told the suspect that he needed to pay for the merchandise. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the store employee. The employee backed away and the suspect fled the area on foot," police said.

An on-scene investigation identified Williams as the suspect, and officers responded to his home in the Riverside area where he was later arrested, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
