Pink Aid Welcomes New Board Members

Westport, CT (February 4, 2020):
Pink Aid’s Board of Directors is delighted to welcome four new members to the organization. The women, all from the Westport area, bring their tremendous collective energy, enthusiasm and experience to the organization in preparation for Pink Aid’s 10th year of operation. Nicole Bonn, Debbie Katz, Christine Nirmaier and Trish Palliotta have all served in many capacities over the past several years including running the annual fundraiser and its committees, providing outreach to women with breast cancer in the community and serving as representatives for the organization throughout the tristate area. The women join a dynamic of men and women committed to providing “compassion until there’s a cure”.

Pink Aid, a local 501(c)3 charity established in 2011, supports women in need, in our own backyard, who don’t have the resources to fight breast cancer while also trying to care for their families. Pink Aid provides direct financial assistance to cover essential household expenses like rent and utility bills, babysitting, and transportation to and from treatment. Pink Aid also supports programs that provide services including free mammograms, wigs, recovery garments, Stop & Shop food cards, and more. Over the prior 9 years, Pink Aid has donated more than $4.6 million to 27 different programs and hospitals in all corners of the state and has provided emergency financial aid to more than 1300 women in our communities.

The organization looks forward to an anniversary year full of surprises with local fundraising and outreach events as well as new initiatives including “Pink Posse”, an offshoot of our much relied upon Pink Purse that further assists some of our most vulnerable and needy Pink Purse recipients.
