With Repairs Complete, Byram Shubert Library Set To Reopen
The library had been closed due to flooding on the first floor.
GREENWICH, CT — All repairs have been completed and Byram Shubert Library will reopen on Thursday for normal business hours, according to Greenwich Library officials.
The library had been closed for several days due to flooding on the first floor, which was caused by a malfunctioning sprinkler system.
Greenwich Library Director Barbara Ormerod-Glynn said the sprinklers were inadvertently triggered while the building was closed last weekend.

She noted that carpeting in sections of the first level were soaked but the water was successfully extracte. Water also entered into the electrical conduits through the floor outlets, which damaged some of the electrical wiring in the building, Ormerod-Glynn said.
The building needed to be inspected by the town before it could reopen.
