Residents May Hear Loud Explosions In Greenwich Tuesday: Here's Why
Here's why there might be some loud noises coming from a particular area in town on Tuesday.
GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department announced its Emergency Service Unit will be conducting training exercises Tuesdayin the area of Steamboat Road.
"Explosive breaching techniques" will be used as part of the training, police said.
"Residents and passersby may hear loud noises during this time," police noted. "These are controlled and supervised training activities and pose no danger to the public. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as ESU personnel maintain their readiness to respond to emergencies."

The GPD's shooting range facility is located at 451 Steamboat Road.
