Riverside Run Returns For 2022

After a two-year hiatus, Riverside School's "Riverside Run" will return in May.

GREENWICH, CT — After a two-year hiatus, Riverside School's Riverside Run will return next month.

The school will host the 37th annual event on May 7 at 8:30 a.m. For years, this community event has taken runners on a scenic three-mile course through the Riverside neighborhood. The run includes a main run, as well as a series of other runs called "Fun Runs" for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The Fun Runs will take place in the front of Riverside School. All participants will receive ribbons, and trophies will be given to those who earn top places.

Online registration is now open to the public at here. The registration fee for the three-mile run is $30 and the Kids Fun Run is $15.

Proceeds from the event will benefit PTA programs that enrich classroom curriculum and support teachers and staff.

Runners who register before April 12 will have their name printed on their race bib. The event also accepts "day of" registration before the race.

"After a two-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are welcoming back the Riverside Run," said Riverside School Principal Christopher Weiss in a news release. "We look forward to seeing students, families and community members come together once again to participate, cheer on, and volunteer and continue our annual long-standing tradition."

All participants will receive a race t-shirt and a take-away gift bag. Timing mats will be at the start and finish line to ensure accurate timing for the main run.
