On the Road -- Honoring Greenwich Hospital's Retiring CEO Frank Corvino
It was Frank Corvino Day in Greenwich — in honor of the Greenwich Hospital CEO's pending retirement.

Come the end of December, when Frank Corvino walks out of Greenwich Hospital for the last time as the facility’s CEO, he’ll be able to hit the road to retirement literally in his own name.
On Tuesday, Corvino’s 26-year tenure at the helm of the hospital that has undergone a total rebuild and now includes affiliation with the Yale-New Haven Health System, was indelibly marked with the creation of ‘Frank A. Corvino Way.’ The traffic circle at the intersection leading to the hospital entrance — at the convergence of Lake Avenue, Perryidge Road, Lafayette Place and William Street — is now officially known as Frank A. Corvino Way.
The unveiling of the hospital blue sign was accompanied with proclamations presented by First Selectman Peter Tesei and state Sen. Scott Frantz (R-36), that designated the day as Frank A. Corvino Day. Corvino announced his intention to retire in May.

Opening the ceremony held in front of the hospital, Dr. Brian Doran, Greenwich Hospital chief operating officer, said “Frank has made Greenwich Hospital the standard by which all other area hospitals are measured. He not only led the building of this beautiful campus, but created a state-of-the-art medical facility that is recognized nationally for its high quality of care and commitment to patient safety and satisfaction,” according to a hospital statement.
Frantz shared a proclamation from the state, followed by First Selectman Tesei’s proclamation that Oct. 21 be declared “Frank A. Corvino Day.” The ceremony ended with the unveiling of two decorative street signs that read “Frank A. Corvino Way.”

“I share this honor with our hospital family and our community partners,” Corvino said. “Because, as you all know, it really does take a village.”
