New Snow Accumulation Estimates Released For Today's Storm, Timeline Updated
The National Weather Service shared new details on how much snow to expect and when the heaviest snow is forecast for in Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service is predicting that most of the state will see between 1-2 inches of snow on Wednesday.
Tolland County may see up to three inches and Litchfield County up to four inches of snow, the weather service said. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Litchfield County. It appears that the heavier snow bands are forecast for the afternoon hours.
A special weather statement was issued for all of southern Connecticut, as the weather service said snow will continue through the afternoon.

Northern CT forecast details:
"A progressive coastal-low pressure system is expected to produce 1-3 inches of snowfall for coastal New England today," the weather service said.
The snow is expected to begin mid-morning but the heavier snow is forecast for the afternoon hours, the weather service said.
"This will support the highest snowfall rates of 0.25 inches to 0.5 inches per hour during the evening commute between 3 and 7 pm. Snow character will be of the heavy wet variety as surface
temperatures will be generally in the low 30s," the weather service said.
"Despite the bulk of the snow falling during the evening commute, impacts to
travel should be limited as it will be difficult for snow to accumulate on paved surfaces given the inefficient snow growth and mild skin temperatures this time of year," the weather service said.
