Sculptor Jesse Nusbaum Selected to CT Magazine’s 40 Under 40
Known for Creating Realistic Bronze Animals, Nusbaum is the Only Sculptor Selected to This List of High Achievers

WESTON, Conn., Jan. 30, 2019 -- Jesse Nusbaum, a sculptor known for creating realistic bronze animals, was recently selected by Connecticut Magazine for its 2019 list of 40 Under 40 up-and-comers. The list of nominees in Connecticut Magazine includes CEOs, professional athletes, government leaders, Broadway performers, filmmakers, farmers, singers, artists, chefs, journalists, community activists and entrepreneurs under the age of 40.
“To be included in Connecticut Magazine’s 40 Under 40 is a great honor for me to be recognized for my work, particularly when I consider the accomplishments of the other honorees, all of whom have distinguished themselves at such a young age in their chosen profession,” said Nusbaum.
Nusbaum, 29, was the only sculptor selected to this list of high achievers. He maintains a studio in his hometown of Weston, Conn. In November 2017, Nusbaum was inducted into the Silvermine Guild of Artists, one of the youngest artists to become a member of the guild.

Nusbaum’s work has also been featured in numerous exhibitions in the tri-state area at venues including Carriage Barn Arts Center in New Canaan; Greenwich Art Society in Greenwich; Mamaroneck Artist Guild in Mamaroneck, N.Y.; Stamford Art Association in Stamford; Martin Art Gallery in Allentown, Penn.; Limner Gallery in Hudson, N.Y.; Ridgefield Artist Guild in Ridgefield, Conn.; and online with AreaArtist.com, of which he is a member.
His Husky sculptures are on display in the University of Connecticut men’s and women’s basketball trophy cases in recognition of their National Championships.

Nusbaum has sold a number of pieces to private collectors in the United States and internationally.
Nusbaum has been selected to collaborate with the world-renowned Spanish artist Fernando Cid de Diego to design and to create a sculpture for a proposed new museum dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr. in Atlanta, Ga.
Connecticut Magazine’s 40 Under 40, The Class of 2019 article appears in the February 2019 edition. Connecticut Magazine, an award-winning publication, has been in existence for more than 45 years reaching more than 380,000 readers state-wide each month. “This award inspires me to continue to improve my craft and challenges me to achieve the goals I have set for myself,” added Nusbaum.
In addition to sculpting, Nusbaum has taught drawing, painting and sculpting to public school students in Fairfield County, Conn. He continues to conduct private lessons at his studio in Weston and also mentors numerous artists on how to navigate the art world, particularly sculpting.
