Skakel Slander Suit Settlement Reportedly Set
In paperwork filed in U.S. District Court, there's an agreement to settle Michael Skakel's slander suit against TV host Nancy Grace.

On what is the 39th anniversary of the bludgeoning death of Martha Moxley, it appears that Michael Skakel, the Kennedy cousin awaiting retrial on charges for Moxley’s murder, is on the cusp of settling his slander suit against television show host Nancy Grace.
Paperwork stipulating a confidential settlement was filed in U.S. District Court in Hartford on Wednesday and the settlement could be finalized on Thursday, according to a Hearst Connecticut Media Group report. Skakel filed the suit two years ago after Grace and her co-host Beth Karas made statements on their HLN program that Skakel left DNA evidence at the scene of the 1975 murder of Moxley in the exclusive Belle Haven neighborhood on Greenwich’s waterfront.
The murder case went unsolved for decades until Skakel was convicted of the 15-year-old’s murder in 2002. He served 11 years of his sentence until a court overturned his conviction last year. Skakel is free on $1.2 million bond while he awaits the retrial.
