Some Still Without Power In Greenwich: Eversource

At one point on Tuesday evening, Sept. 4, about 40 percent of the town was without power.

GREENWICH, CT — About a half-dozen Eversource customers were still without power Wednesday morning, Sept. 5, more than 12 hours following an outage that plunged nearly 40 percent of the town into darkness.

The outage was the result of "problems with a couple of underground cables," which Eversource largely repaired late Tuesday night. More than 10,000 Eversource customers were without power during the outage, which led to Greenwich police having to respond to more than 140 calls Tuesday night.

"Eversourse will be working later today on Bruce Park Avenue between Mason Street and Ridge Street so avoid that area," wrote Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz in a statement Wednesday.
