Stamford State's Attorney David Cohen To Retire

The prosecutor reportedly plans to retire after a 36-year career.

Stamford State’s Attorney David I. Cohen, who has overseen the prosecutorial operations of the state Superior Courts in Stamford and Norwalk for 14 years has announced his retirement.

In an interview with The Advocate, Cohen said he will retire at the end of June, closing his legal career after 36 years as a prosecutor.

The 64-year-old Cohen, who joined the office as a prosecutor in 1978, told The Advocate, “I’ve been doing this for a very long time and I want to retire while I’m still healthy enough to enjoy it.”

The Criminal Justice Commission will appoint Cohen’s replacement.
